    *   if you are considering dropping a class, you NEED to do
        so through your Student Center by 11:59 pm on MONDAY, SEPT. 8

        *   instructions on how, just in case:

*   at-least-first-attempts at Homework 1's problems
    are due by 11:59 pm TONIGHT (Friday, Sept 5)

    *   REMEMBER: as discussed in the course syllabus, 
        to be able to submit improved versions of Problems 3-7 
        after that deadline,

        you need to submit attempts at Problem 1 and Problem 2's short
        answer questions, AND submit a 111hw1.rkt file attempting at least
        one of Problems 3-7, by that deadline

*   watch for class e-mail letting you know when Homework 2 is available
